Our New Rabbi

    Temple Emanuel is excited to announce the appointment of Rabbi Howard (Howie) Stein as its new rabbi effective July 1, 2025. Rabbi Stein previously served for five years as rabbi at Temple B’nai Israel of White Oak, PA.

    Originally from New York, Rabbi Stein graduated from Cornell University with a degree in computer science.  Following a career in software, he pursued graduate studies at Brandeis University and completed rabbinic studies at Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in 2009. He will be joining Temple Emanuel with his wife Debbie and their child.
